Even when you end a relationship with another, unhealthy patterns from when you were together flow back and forth through that cord. These cords can be developed not just by romantic relationships, but co workers, family, and friends. Not all cords are negative. Positive cords will make you feel good and spiritually connected to that person, but negative cords will make you feel bad, stuck and unable to let go of the past. If you vibrate at a higher level then the other person, they will drain your energy to compensate for their lower vibration. It will probably be something they are not even aware of. It can make you feel physically and mentally exhausted, and If you do not work on cutting those negative cords, you can attract negative patterns, by bringing those old attachments to your new relationships.
Cutting these negative cords can create new beginnings, end negative attachments to the past, and help you to move on. Most of us will intuitively know how strong our cord is with someone. You will know by how strongly or how often you think or feel towards someone, or how strongly you feel psychic connection with that person.
Energetic cords are attached through our energy centers or our chakras. Depending on the nature of your relationship with that person, is where your attachment will reside .
Root Chakra is located at the base of your spine . It resonates to the color of red. This center controls your sense safety and security in the world. If the cord is formed here someone is looking for you to protect them, or they need your strength. If this person is needy, you had a co-dependent relationship, or if this person is manipulative with sex money or power.
Sacral Chakra is located just below your naval. It resonates with the color orange.This center controls your relationships and sexual energy. If a cord is attached here, someone wants you to understand their emotions and problems, or someone wants you to socially conform. If you had a strong sexual connection, their energy still lives here.
Solar Plexus Chakra is located just below your breast bone above your naval. This center resonates with the color yellow. This center controls confidence and self esteem . If the cord is attached here someone desires your energy, thinking it can change their own. They drain your life force through self loathing and low self esteem. Cords are most commonly formed here.
Heart Chakra is located in the center of your chest. It resonates with the color green. It governs how we give and receive love from others. It is where we experience unconditional love and well being . A cord attached here indicates that someone desires your love or wants to tell you they love you. They have guilt for taking your love for granted.
Throat Chakra is located at the throat area .It resonates with the color light blue. A cord formed here indicates someone needs to communicate with you. They are looking at and drawing from your strengths to take control of their own lives
Third Eye Chakra is located at the center of your brow . It resonates with the color indigo blue. This center controls psychic ability. If the cord is here someone wants to be in your thoughts. These are the people who try and get you to doubt yourself.
Crown Chakra is located just above your head it resonates with the color purple.If a cord is formed here someone wants control over you and how you think, or when someone wants to attack your religious beliefs or experiences.
How to Remove Energetic Cords
Once you have figured out which chakras the cords are attached to, you can clear them through meditation and visualization. Below is a simple and effective meditation that I use often. You can do this however you are most comfortable, sitting in a chair, lying down, or sitting on the floor indian style, in a place you will not be disturbed .
1. close your eyes and listen to your breath.
2. Imagine yourself in a place that you feel comfortable and safe . Your "Happy Place"
3. Envision the person sitting or standing facing you. Look down at your chakras, at whatever cords are attached to the other person. For instance, if you are connected by your solar plexus and heart chakra, then envision a yellow and green ray of light going from your chakras to the other persons .
4. You can envision whatever you would like here . I always envision Arch Angel Michael standing to my right with a huge sword of light . You can even imagine a huge pair of scissors made of light.
5. Take a deep breath in, and imagine those cords being cut all the way through when you breathe out .
6. Imagine the cords coiling back up into your body, and the person's cords back into theirs, and the area healed with white light
7. Envision a white light surrounding you both, look at the person, tell them you forgive them, and then tell them you release them. Watch them walking away until you can no longer see them . Breathe out any leftover feelings of hurt or pain.
Selenite is one of my favorite crystals when I want to cut cords. Selenite is a highly protective stone. It acts to shield our aura from outside influences . After my meditation I will write the person's name on a piece of paper. I then take my selenite stick and place it on top of the paper. You can also carry a tumbled stone with you, or hold it in your left hand during meditation. This will ensure the energy cords stay cut and will prevent future attachments. .
After these cords are cut, and you have energetically released this person, you will find your mind no longer dwells upon this person or past events. The psychic attachments has been dissolved. You will experience a sense of peace and have a quiet mind. You will physically feel lighter. The old painful emotions with this person have been dissolved and the psychic communication will end. That space that was once filled with negativity can now be replaced with something new and positive.
